I ran a full scan on my external drive the next day and mbam found two more. I started them both and ran full scans- mbam found the items attached. I ran several quick scans and mbam didn't find a thing, but I didn't enter the key to register my copy and didn't set it to do regular scans.Ī couple days later, I had problems booting the Lenovo and once I was able to get in, I saw that both Malwarebytes and MSE were stopped.
I switched to a friend's Lenovo laptop and installed Malwarebytes, Microsoft Security Essentials and Sandboxie to use surfing the net. My Toshiba laptop had been having problems with its fan, and would overheat and shut down 2-3 times a week, so I didn't really think anything of it when it finally crashed and wouldn't reboot.
